About Geoff's Paintings
Recently, I paint from observation and imagination. I attempt to enact liminality, undiscovered inner territories, and cognitive associations to find order amid organic chaos in nature and imagination.
With these works, I reflect on perceived histories of growth and offenses (droughts, cuts, breaks). I treat subjects as ‘beings’ and seek abstraction that is felt and implied in the paintings.
My Notable Shows include aporia: aporia at L.A.C.E (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions), Beyond Baroque in LA, Franklin's Furnace, The Kitchen, the Poetry Project in NYC, and the Walker (Gallery 8) in Mpls.
